This pattern has lots of cool features. For one, it’s fully reversible, but sewn with the “burrrito” method so that the lining won’t pull out every time you take it off, as happens with most other lined mermaid tail blankets. The fun part of being reversible is that you can create two looks in one! Get sparkly fun on the outside and snuggly fuzziness on the lining, then turn it inside out when you want a change!
The Sea Snuggler has two fin shapes to choose from and you can make an elastic or flat waistband. And if you don’t love love mermaids, there is a really fun idea for turning this blanket into a shark blanket!

LOVE this!! I have been seeing all of the crochet versions all around Pinterest, but not many sewn ones! Seems easy enough that a beginner sewer (me) could work some up – I think they’d make lovely gifts! And I love even more than you offer a copy shop version – score! Pinning to my wish list.
Yes, Alexandra! There are loads of very cool crochet versions, and I had requests for these, but I am a slow crocheter and knitter, so I decided to make my own sewn version! It is definitely easy enough for beginners, as I had a few beginners on my testing crew, and they had no problem at all with it.
