Two years ago I was contacted by Sticker Kid* to try out their personalized name labels for kids. I was initially skeptical but, upon trying out their products, I immediately realized that these were very special labels. Not only are they very cute and colorful, with lots of styles to choose from, but they are also incredibly resistant. They do not come off, are dishwasher safe, and do not get worn out like regular paper labels. There are even iron-on labels for clothes and fabric items. You can read my review from two years ago of three types of labels here.
Because I love these products so much, the kind folks at Sticker Kid proposed I try out some of their new products. I customized one of their value packs with various types of stickers with my son, letting him choose the colors, images and text that he preferred.
As before, our order arrived just a couple of days later! Such fast processing and shipping!
We’ve been using these stickers all summer long, and both the kids are I are so pleased with them! These labels are waterproof and sand-resistant, so they’re perfect for labelling toys and other things we bring to the pool and beach.
My daughter went away on her own for a 5-night summer camp in early June, so I made sure to label every single thing she brought with her, from snorkelling gear to bathroom supplies to cell phone, to make sure that they would come back home with her. (And they did!)
And now that my little boy is about to start 1st grade (I can’t believe it… it seems like just yesterday that he was born!), we’ve been getting all his school supplies ready, and we’ve been labelling everything… because any parent or teacher knows perfectly well how often pens and pencils and glue sticks get lost or “borrowed”!
Sticker Kid is still offering a 10% DISCOUNT on ALL of their products from ALL of their regional websites to Cucicucicoo readers! All you need to do is customize your order on www.stickerkid.com and insert the promotional code “CUCICUCICOO” during checkout.
Now let me tell you some more about the many useful ways you can use their different products so you can make the best choice for your family’s needs!
Like I mentioned before, we started off summer vacation this year with my daughter heading off to a marine biology summer camp at the sea. We still had plenty of her labels that we’d ordered two years ago, so we stuck them on fins, snorkel, sunblock and other beach gear. We also put them on other objects that could easily get confused or lost in her dorm-style hotel room with six other girls.
I had feared that my easily-distracted girl would come home sans many of her things, but she didn’t lose a single thing! Yah!
Then as it quickly got super hot in June, we started going to our local swimming pool and to nearby beaches to cool down. Because Sticker Kid labels are waterproof and sand-resistant, they stayed perfectly stuck to water toys, goggles, fins, bags and sunblock.
This is one of our favorite stickers that we ordered this time. My kids are bonkers for dinosaurs, so this T-Rex label makes them laugh every time! (It says “If you don’t give me back to Nicholas, I’ll eat you!”)
I discovered that these labels are even sunblock-resistant. You know how the images and text on sunblock bottles wear away when handled with sunblock-sticky hands? These labels stayed stuck on tight even when there was hardly anything else visible on the bottle label!
One of Sticker Kid’s new products this year are ID bracelets. These are similar to the type of entrance bracelets that they give you when you go to a water park or amusement park and are waterproof and tear-proof. These are great for when you’re at a crowded beach, pool, park, mall or any other public place.
Ours say “I’m lost!” and have Nicky’s name and both my and my husband’s cell phone numbers (which I’ve obviously blacked out in these pictures). Our spunky little boy has this tendency to wander off at the beach, but then can’t find his way back to our umbrella. I obviously still have to keep an eye on him all the time, but knowing he was wearing one of these bracelets made me feel more at ease.
See? They’re perfectly water-resistant!
So my little swimmer could swim and play and explore without his mama getting too worried about him!
These ID bracelets are also perfect for kids with allergies or medical conditions when going out without their usual caretakers. Just write whatever substances to avoid or other important medical information, along with the child’s name and a parent’s phone number.
Another new product at Sticker Kid are shoe labels. They are the same high-quality stickers as the others, but with a shape that fits perfectly onto the heel of the shoe.
Kids take off their shoes more often than an adult would imagine. There’s playtime at parties, summer camp or school, naptime in pre-school, locker rooms in pools and gyms. I personally always get paranoid that my kids’ shoes will get accidentally taken when they’re jumping in those big inflatable bouncy castle things, and these labels put my mind at ease.
They stick perfectly onto leather or synthetic insoles and they are still stuck perfectly on both of these shoes after three months of very intensive use, usually without socks. There is not even a tiny unstuck edge on these sandals, which frequently got covered in dirt, water and mud, and endured many washings.
Clothes and fabric items also frequently get lost. I really liked the Sticker Kid iron-on labels that I got two years ago, but my one complaint was that they were a little ugly, with no colors or images. Happily, since then they have introduced a new type of iron-on labels for fabric that can be customized just as much as all the other stickers!
Just to show you how well these iron-on labels adhere to fabric surfaces, here are a couple of cloth menstrual pads of mine that I stuck them to two years ago. (You can see pictures of them two years ago here.) One is starting to get a little worn out around the edges, but they are still perfectly legible and perfectly adhered after many washings. I didn’t think that the label would stick well to the wool-backed pad, but I was clearly wrong, because it’s still perfect!
These iron-on labels are perfect for jackets, hats and other clothing, but also any other fabric object, such as pencil cases and fabric organizers.
And backpacks! And because these don’t need a high-temperature iron to stick on, you can use them on synthetic fabrics (such as this backpack and the organizer with the face two pictures up) without worrying about them melting.
And of course there’s everything that goes INSIDE pencil cases, organizers and backpacks!
We used different sized labels on all of the kids’ school supplies. The glue stick here has a photo label, which is great for younger kids who can’t read and need to rely on images.
But probably my favorite labels are the smallest sized ones because they fit on EVERYTHING!! So we’ve labeled every single pen, colored pencil and marker, despite their small surfaces. You can also easily trim them down to fit on even smaller spaces, such as these scissors.
So, thanks to Sticker Kid, we have spent a summer without worrying about losing beach and other objects, and we won’t have to worry about losing school supplies in the new school year either!
