remember this post about the travel watercolor kit in the altoids tin? i mentioned fantastix, a sort of paintbrush that can be filled with water so that you can carry them with you to do watercolors without having to bring water, too. in the post i wrote that i couldn’t figure out how to use the dang things. i brought the kit with me the first day that my daughter and i participated in one of the drawing workshops held by the artist caroline peyron in the museo di capodimonte in naples. and i found that it wasn’t just a wrong impression; they don’t work at all for watercolors because they don’t fill up at all with water, even when left overnight in it. doh!
then i discovered that there are another type of travel paintbrushes with a plastic part that actually can be filled up with water. you can regulate the flow of the water and we brought them with us for the other days of the workshop and they let us work much better! therefore, if you have any intention of watercoloring out and about, get these paintbrushes, not fantastix!!
update: the paintbrushes i used are pentel brand.

Utilissimo questo post, non ho mai visto in giro le acquarelle da viaggio, ma mi sarei sicuramente fatta tentare dall'acquisto. Così eviterò!
Dove si trovano invece questi pennelli ad acqua con serbatoio? hanno una marca?

ciao vale! hai ragione, mi sono dimenticata di scrivere la marca, che è Pentel. li vendono un negozio di materiali per l'arte vicino all'accademia di belle arti di napoli, quindi prova in un negozio del genere dove abiti tu. ho cercato ora su ebay.it e amazon.it, ma non li ho visti, ma credo che si possono anche trovare online da qualche parte.
mi fa piacere che leggi spesso. lasciami un commento più spesso! mi piace tantissimo sentire quello che hanno da dire i miei lettori! 🙂 lisa
